Course spotlight

What you learn in FJ100 — inside the essentials course

The classroom where the ladder begins — materials out, task lamps on.

FJ100 — Creative and Essential Fashion Jewellery Knowledge — is the
ladder's door. Here is what actually happens inside.

The knowledge half — materials science for fashion media (beads,
fibre, wire, resin-adjacent), colour and design control, tool fluency,
and the finishing standard every later course assesses against.

The making half — you leave with finished wearable pieces built
across the core techniques: strung work with correct terminations, wire
joints that never fail, and your first woven structure
(technique map).

The qualification — FJ100 is the prerequisite rung for
intricate styles and master techniques, which stack
into the fashion jewellery diploma.

Who it suits — absolute beginners (that is the design), self-taught
makers who want standards, and gift-makers levelling up. Official details,
fees and dates live on the school's course page; the
calendar holds the dates.
