Art Deco influence — geometry that never leaves jewellery
Straight lines, strict symmetry, bold contrast — the deco grammar.
A century on, Art Deco remains jewellery's most-quoted era — because
its grammar is simple and strict:
- Geometry — rectangles, steps, chevrons, sunbursts.
- Symmetry — mirrored everything; deco does not do casual asymmetry.
- Contrast — black and white (onyx and diamond/crystal) above all.
- Lines — baguette-style parallel bars.
Quoting it modern — take TWO markers maximum (say, chevron + monochrome)
and execute in today's materials and weight standards; deco pieces were
heavy, ours need not be. Fringe benefit: the geometry reads beautifully in
seed-bead weaving —
square stitch was born for this.
The aesthetic self-discovery course trains exactly this
era-reading eye.
What students say
“I will use the skills learnt to make jewellery and other items, such as phone chains, christmas tree decorations & hopefully sell them.”

“Attended the courses here and it's worth way more than what you have to pay for. The instructors are all super approachable and welcoming everytime they see you. The tools needed are provided and you get to bring home the crafts that you make during the class. Even the class schedules are pretty flexible. I enjoyed myself here a lot and will definitely sign up for more classes.”
